Celebrating community, innovation, and the launch of Auth by Agglestone Community Tier

Last week, the Agglestone Labs team had the privilege of sponsoring NZ Tech Rally 2026 in Wellington – one of New Zealand’s standout events for software engineering, platform innovation, and technology leadership.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with developers, engineering leaders, platform specialists, and product teams from across Aotearoa, and to be part of the conversations shaping the future of software delivery in New Zealand.

For us, this year’s event was particularly special.

NZ Tech Rally 2026 was the perfect place to officially showcase and celebrate the launch of the Community Tier for Auth by Agglestone, our developer-first authentication and identity platform.

And judging by the response at our stand, the launch could not have landed better.

A Fantastic Reception for Auth by Agglestone

Throughout the event, it was fantastic to see so many attendees stopping by the Agglestone Labs stand to explore Auth by Agglestone in action.

We had the opportunity to demo the platform live, walk through the developer experience, and talk with engineering teams about modern authentication challenges – from standards compliance and multi-tenant identity architecture through to MFA implementation and custom branded authentication flows.

The response was overwhelmingly positive.

There was strong interest in the platform’s focus on practical, standards-based authentication without unnecessary complexity, particularly around:

  • Built-in multi-factor authentication using both authenticator apps and email verification
  • Fully customisable hosted authentication pages
  • Standards-based OAuth2 and OpenID Connect support
  • Multi-tenant architecture
  • The newly launched community tier

The introduction of the community tier sparked particularly strong conversations, with many attendees excited by the opportunity to get started with Auth by Agglestone at no cost through simple community participation.

It was incredibly rewarding to hear firsthand from developers who saw immediate opportunities to use the platform in side projects, startups, and production SaaS environments.

Great Conversations, Great Energy

One of the highlights of the event was simply the quality of the conversations.

There was a real sense of momentum throughout the conference, not just around emerging technologies, but around practical engineering excellence, platform maturity, and building sustainable software systems.

It was clear that New Zealand’s technology community continues to level up, with a strong focus on building robust systems while maintaining a healthy engineering culture.

Seeing so many people engage deeply with technical product architecture, platform strategy, and developer experience made this year’s event particularly energising for our team.

Outstanding Talks and Practical Insights

The conference featured an excellent lineup of speakers, with a strong emphasis on real-world engineering lessons and platform thinking.

Talks such as “The API Product Playbook: Managing the Full Lifecycle for a World-Class DevEx and Agent Experience” by Darshit Pandya of Serko, and “Building the Golden Path: Unified Platforms Management Across Cloud, On-Premise, and SaaS” by Feilong Wang of Kiwibank, really resonated.

For teams building modern infrastructure products, there were plenty of valuable takeaways.

A Strong Focus on Wellbeing and Inclusion

One of the most encouraging aspects of NZ Tech Rally 2026 was the continued emphasis on wellbeing, inclusion, and building healthier engineering cultures.

Technical excellence and sustainable team culture are not separate goals.

The event did an excellent job of reinforcing that high-performing technology organisations are built not only on strong systems and architecture, but also on inclusive environments where people can do their best work.

It was great to see this reflected both in the talks and in the wider atmosphere of the event.

That balance is something we care deeply about at Agglestone Labs.

Thank You, Wellington

We want to extend a huge thank you to the organisers of NZ Tech Rally for creating such a well-run and valuable event for New Zealand’s technology community.

We’re also grateful to everyone who stopped by our stand, asked thoughtful questions, shared feedback, and took the time to explore Auth by Agglestone.

Launching the community tier in this environment, surrounded by so many engaged and passionate technologists, made it especially meaningful.

The strong reception reinforced what we’ve believed from the beginning:

There is real demand for authentication infrastructure that is modern, developer-friendly, standards-based, and accessible.

We’re excited about what comes next.
